YMCA Kids Cafe Begins June 1 in Holdrege

The YMCA of the Prairie will be strengthening the community this summer by once again providing free nutritious meals for kids.

The Kids Café free summer lunch program kicks off June 1 and will continue through July 31 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1103 Sheridan.

This year, the program will be offered at a new time, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Meals were served curbside last year due to COVID-19. However, in-person dining will resume this year.

The YMCA seeking volunteers for the program. If you’d like to volunteer one or two days each week or more, please call Janell Brown at the YMCA at (308) 995-4050.

This is the 10th year of the Kids Café. Last year, nearly 4,000 meals were served, giving children the nourishment they needed for a healthy summer.

The YMCA is a non-profit organization that works to strengthen the community with programs focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
