Swimming Added to Orthman YMCA Programs With New Crossing Partnership

The Orthman Community YMCA has formed a new partnership with The Crossing that will allow Y members to add swimming and water activities to their exercise routines.

The YMCA will rent The Crossing’s facility at 1006 Airport Road, which includes a pool, a gym and two conference rooms. The facility will be open at various times throughout the week for Y members to swim or enjoy family pool time.

In addition, the public may rent the facility from the Y for birthday parties and community events.

“We are glad to begin this new partnership with The Crossing that will benefit our Y members in more ways than one,” YMCA Executive Branch Director Riley Gruntorad said. “This facility will allow our members to enjoy the benefits of low-impact water exercise with the potential for swimming lessons and other water programs in the future.”

The Crossing will maintain ownership of the facility and will continue to conduct its normal programs and activities throughout the year.

YMCA year-round swimming lessons could begin at the YMCA at the Crossing in 2019.

The new YMCA at the Crossing location will open to Y members on April 16.

Pool hours will be:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays: Adult Swim, 8-10 a.m. & Family Swim, 6-10 p.m.
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: Lap Swimming, 5:30-7:30 a.m.
  • Sundays: Family Swim, 1-5 p.m.

Adult supervision will be required for children ages 9 and younger. Y members who want to include the pool in their exercise routines will simply add a small monthly fee to their Y membership dues ($5 for youth and 65 plus members, $10 for adults and $15 for families). Non-members may visit by purchasing a $7 day pass.
