At the Y, we help kids develop more than just strong muscles. The YMCA’s enrichment classes kids’ minds grow along with their muscles.
Some of the programs offered include:
Leap & Learn Preschool Class: Offered in Holdrege on T & TH at 9:15 a.m.
Tiny Tots Boot Camp: Offered in Gothenburg for children ages 1-4 plus a parent.
Adventure Kidz Club: Offered Lexington for kids in grades K-8. Monthly themes include cooking club, craft club, science club, book club, etc.
STEM Adventures: Offered Holdrege for kids ages 5-15. Themes include photography, chess, babysitting, science, fishing and more.
Nerf Wars: Nerf War nights are offered at both branches throughout the year. Boys and girls will be having so much fun, they won’t know they are exercising! Ages for the Holdrege events are 7-13. Ages in Lexington are Grades 1-6.
Teen Nights: Teen nights are for kids in grades 5-8 and are offered the second Saturday of the month from 7-9 p.m.
School Day Out: When school is out, the fun is in at the YMCA. Lexington and Holdrege branches offer School Day Out programs with fun and educational activities for elementary-aged kids when school is not in session.
Youth Weight Training: This program is offered at all branches for children 11 and older who want to learn to properly lift weights and learn about healthy living. Those who pass the class can exercise on their own at the Y.
Changemakers: This program is offered in Gothenburg for children in grades 4-6 to help them learn about and apply real-world skills.
