The YMCA at Gothenburg Health is focused on fulfilling its mission. People of all ages, races, religions, income and abilities have found a place to belong at the Y.
“Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for al,l” said YMCA Executive Branch Director Julie Czochara. This mission aligns directly with the Gothenburg saying, “all means all.”
While the building has only been open since April, many relationships have been built with friends, neighbors and families at the Y. “On a personal note, I want to share from my heart some of the awesome things I’ve seen at the Y,” Czochara said. “I have seen kids from Cozad here using our gym because their floor was being resurfaced; they played basketball with Gothenburg kids and had a great time. I watch families playing kickball together, people talking and having coffee, kids playing together who probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for this facility. There are families having birthday parties, pool parties, lap swimmers and water aerobics groups. People of all kinds are coming together at the Y as a community.”
October is a great time to join the Y as the joining fee is cut in half, $20 instead of $40, for the month.
Current members are also rewarded for inviting friends to join the Y in October. If a friend becomes a member, both the Y member and new member will be eligible for prizes, such as one free program of choice, two tickets to the Daddy Daughter Date Night, four tickets to the Halloween Spooktacular Extravaganza, a YMCA blender bottle & T-shirt, or a personal training session with a friend. In addition to the prizes, both names will be put in a weekly drawing on Fridays, and they may be eligible for a month of free membership!
The YMCA at Gothenburg Health offers financial assistance so that anyone may belong to the YMCA regardless of financial situation. EVERYONE is welcome at the Y. Consider joining today!
