Did you know that YMCA Group Exercise Classes are included in a membership or day pass? There is no need to register for classes. Drop in whenever it fits your schedule. Schedule, class titles and descriptions are below.

Strength Classes

RIP –  is a barbell class designed by top fitness professionals from the Group RX program. Traditional exercises are matched to energizing music to create a simple, fun and powerful way to strength train. The 45 minute RIP classes will hit all the major muscle groups.

RIP & Row – Combining our popular RIP class with our fabulous WaterRower GX will provide you with a well rounded workout.

TRX – Men’s Health named TRX the best new “Total Body Tool.” Celebrities and pro athletes are calling it their favorite workout. TRX develops cardiovascular fitness, strength, power, balance and core stability simultaneously.

Fit & Flexed – Strength training workout emphasizing toning and muscle definition with a variety of weight lifting formats; targets every major muscle group.

Push/Pull Training – Strength training class that uses the push/pull split training method. Which will be push exercises (Chest/Triceps/Shoulders) on day 1, leg & core exercises (Quads, Hamstrings, Core) on day 2, and pull exercises (Back/Biceps) on day 3.

Ripped & Chiseled – A blend of our popular RIP class with additional strength training drills that is guaranteed to leave you feeling chiseled.

Cardio Classes

ShockWave – This 30-45 minute workout is extreme cross training at it’s best! This total body circuit challenge combines the WaterRower GX machines for high-intensity calorie burn with dynamic, functional exercises using equipment such as Body Bars, BOSUs, and Kettlebells to sculpt and transform the body!

Insanity – No need to be in the extreme shape to participate in Insanity. This class focuses on Max Interval Training to keep you working at your maximum capacity through the entire workout.

Cardio Kickboxing – is a class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio. This high – energy workout challenges the beginner and the elite athlete alike. build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout.

Kickboxing – is a simple athletic kickboxing workout using boxing and kickboxing drills that will leave you feeling armed and dangerous in no time!

Dance Fusion – Join us for the hottest, calorie burning workout around! Dance Fusion is exercise in disguise. You will be having so much fun dancing, shaking and moving you’ll forget you’re working out! Dance ability not needed, just the ability to have fun while you work out.

Cycling – Instructors will lead you through a series of climbing hills and sprinting flats in a cardio workout incorporating the mind, body, and spirit. Class will be followed by strength work for abs, arms, or legs on different days of the week.

Extreme Boxing – is a combination of cardiovascular drills and boxing drills for a extreme cardio workout.

Water Classes

Water Wake-up  – This gentle low-impact water aerobics class will get you going in the morning, focusing on improving cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility while easing impact to the joints.

Aqua Blast – Get moving with cardio water aerobics using water dumbbells, noodles, balls, resistance bands & more. A high intensity workout with less stress to the joints than land based exercise.

Aqua Fusion  – For those of you that love to dance, but need a lower impact option, this is for you! We’re taking the party to the water. Aqua Fusion creates a workout that is cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all exhilarating beyond belief.

Low-Impact Classes

PiYo – This low-impact, high intensity workout combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of yoga. With cranked up speed and fluid transitions, you will get your strength, sweat and stretch on – in each workout.

Indo Row – a one-of-a-kind rowing workout that changes the way you think about group exercise. Working in teams, partners, and as one crew, each participant receives top-notch coaching and a trans formative total-body workout that leaves them begging for more. Indo-Row is easy to learn and perfect for all levels of fitness and abilities.

Country Heat – When was the last time you actually had FUN trying to lose weight? When was the last time you actually looked forward to walking on a treadmill? Country Heat changes everything! It’s great country music and by great, we mean GREAT – and the moves are simple line dance – inspired. Yes, SIMPLE! So if you want to lose wight but have been waiting for the simple, fun program without bur-pees, pull-ups, or hip-hop back flips…

Fit for Life – Get a full body workout in a low impact land class that will focus on cardio, strength, and flexibility. Geared for older adult.

Move & Groove – Fun low impact workout that will have you dancing the cha cha, salsa, even country. no dance experience required, jut be ready to have fun!

Mind, Body Classes

Axis – come alive with both body weight and dumbbell challenges. this class dives right in to balance, flexibility and ROTATIONAL capability using fresh patterns that stabilize, strengthen and mobilize the CORE. It’s no secret that AXIS is one of the fastest growing programs on planet EARTH.

Yoga – Improve your ability to relax and deal with stress in this class, open to all levels and abilities. It focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. You will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility

 

More Classes Than Ever Before!

Group Exercise Schedule (Updated August 2016)

3-2-1: A fast paced class covering cycles of 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes or cardio, and 1 minute intervals of core exercises. A complete workout!

Barre: A body basic class focusing more on the lower body. Building long leaner legs utilizing ballet methods.

Calorie Killer HIIT: This higher intensity workout is guaranteed to melt fat and burn calories. HIIT is a combination of workouts that form short intense circuits that will leave you sweating and feeling good.

Classic Fitness: All fitness needs in one class geared towards seniors with a splash of fun.

Core Fit: This class is for everyone! Through the use of hand weights and various equipment, you’ll strengthen your core, increase your endurance and gain whole body fitness. You’ll gain balance, coordination, strength and confidence. Variations will be shown so that everyone can participate.

Cycle: A cardio workout with varying speeds, resistance levels and intensities that can tailor to meet your personal goals. Cycling is a great way to increase heart rate, build endurance, and strengthen your lower body. Newcomers – arrive early to be fitted to a bike.

Cycle Chi: Starting with a warm-up of Tai Chi will be a ride on the cycles where you will be guided how to use the gears and the intensity finishing with a cool-down of Tai Chi. Adding an extra 30 minutes to your work-out.

Cycle/Core: During this fusion class, the first part of class is spent on the bike, building endurance and breaking a sweat; the other part is off the bike strengthening the core. Newcomers should plan to arrive early to be fitted to a bike.

Fit Camp: Intervals of cardio and strength training drills are performed for a maximum calorie and muscle burn!

Pilates: Improve your flexibility, build strength, and develop control and endurance for your body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, and improving coordination and balance.

Ready, Set, Go!: Start the weekend with an exhilarating workout. It could be a Tabata style, Super Circuit style, or any other style to start your weekend off right!

Strength Builders: Basics of strength building for the senior member desiring extra help from our trained professional.

Super Circuit: Circuit training is an efficient and challenging form of conditioning. It works well for developing strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination.

Unwinding Tai Chi: Mixing traditional and new practice that will aid in relaxation, focus, breathing, and strength. It will improve posture and provide balance with movement. Appropriate for all fitness levels, slow and steady.

Yoga (Gentle): The best stretch of the day! Work out those kinks and everyday soreness with a variety of yoga postures. Must be able to get on the floor.

Yoga (Flow): Yoga postures that flow to generate heat. Increases flexibility and strength.

Yoga Chi: Blending the best of both genres aiding in strength building capabilities, overall body awareness, and how it relates to balance.

Zumba: Exhilarating, Latin inspired, calorie burning, getting the body moving class. Join the party!

Zumba Gold: Latin inspired fitness dance geared toward low-impact movements for ALL.
