Adult Programs

COMMIT TO BE FIT
Commit to be Fit is a program for people of all ages and abilities who are looking for guidance and support in their commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Whether this is your first time exercising, or your first time in a while, Commit to be Fit will help you get on the road to better health. YMCA Fitness Member Associates will lead each class, providing support, teaching proper techniques on equipment and guiding you through  your workout in a small-group setting. Join at any time! Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Cost is $24 for 8 weeks.

FIT FARMERS
Farmers, are you tired of your weight being higher than your yields? Come to the YMCA for this beginner’s exercise club. Club is led by a certified personal trainer who will give basic exercise instruction and health tips.

Fee: $10 for members & the coffee is free!
Non-members pay the day-pass rate ($7).
Starting again in January 2011

Group Exericse

Did you know that the YMCA offers more than 40 group exercise classes that are included in your membership fees? For some, getting involved in a group exercise class may be just what is needed to stay motivated. There is no need to sign up or register for classes. Come when you can.

Personal Training

Fee: $35 for first session/$25 per session thereafter.
Personal training is led by a certified YMCA personal trainer who will help you identify your fitness goals and then work with you to create a personalized 12-week fitness program. Personal training may include work on free weights in addition to cardio-vascular exercise.

Fitness Orienation

The YMCA offers a free wellness center orientation to all new members. The orientation can be tailored to fit each individual based on his/her needs. It may include instruction on the red Cybex Weight machines. The Cybex machines offer a simple method to improve strength in your body, thus increasing your capacity to burn calories and increasing your bone density. You will receive a card with your settings for future use as well as written instructions. It may also include instruction on the cardio machines. All machines provide a great workout and some have options that allow you to set up programs to help you lose weight or work out at a higher intensity.

Super-Sized Kids Family Challenge

I Lifted A Car
This challenge is for all levels. You can lift a Volkswagen Bug on up to a semi-truck in this four-week challenge. Details below:

Y-80 Challenge
Sponsored by Hilsabeck Sporting Goods
Starts Any Time After Jan. 4
Walk or run Interstate 80 at the YMCA. Join this ongoing challenge at any time and walk at your own pace. Nine stops are planned along the way for a total of 5000 miles. Our challenge sponsor, Hilsabeck Sporting Goods, will give away a new pair of shoes each six months to challenge participants. Names are entered into the drawing each time a participant reaches one of the nine stops. Miles must be completed at the YMCA and can be walked on the indoor track, treadmill or Nu-Step.
